Friday: No words.
Moxie had the cleaning challenge of her life last night, emotionally speaking. A dear friend who delivered at home, tended by midwives who are dear friends, lost her baby and I had the honour of assisting my friend in restoring their home to a slightly more comforting state, a picture so vivid in my mind as to be burned indelibly.
My heart will never be the same, and there is some serious community-wide grieving going on today, as well as action to support the family and the midwives.
Your assignment today is:
Don't do a goddamn thing. Pile on the couch with your kids and watch movies and hug them and never stop.

My heart is aching so badly for her. It is such an unfair pain to bear.
ReplyDeleteSleep sweetly, Persephone........

ReplyDeleteIt's not right. . .
ReplyDeleteSending out positive, healing thoughts.
My heart breaks. Thank you so much for being there for her last night. You are a gift. I can not imagine your pain after doing that, but I am so glad that it was done.

ReplyDeletePlease send my love and thoughts to the family and to that sweet baby. I cannot imagine what they must be going through, nor how you are holding up being so close by giving a helping hand. You are simply a selfless woman Chey and to step forward to help at such an emotional time is a true tribute to the strength you possess.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you all. ♥
What can I do to help?

I have a very dear friend who had a still birth last year. I feel so deeply for this family. I don't know them, but my heart goes out to them.
